It’s that time of year.
Crowds, uncanny mall Santas, and gingerbread. Gingerbread houses are engaging things, aren’t they? On one hand, they can be beautiful, and nonetheless on a other palm they can seem impossibly germy. Adapted from epicurious’s recipe…
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
4 1/2 teaspoons belligerent ginger
2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon belligerent cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon belligerent cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 crater (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 crater and 2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 crater light molasses
1 1/3 cups cold water
1 crater confectioners’ sugar
2 – 3 tablespoons really clever coffee or Kahlua
- Preheat oven to 350°. Grease 16 customary muffin cups.
- In a middle bowl, drive flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and salt until combined.
