Watch The First Men In Black International Trailer

Ever since it was announced that Men in Black would be returning with a spin-off starring Chris Hemsworth, Liam Neeson and Tessa Thompson, we’ve been patiently waiting for a trailer to see how it would look. Well now that the first trailer has come out, we can say the film has us intrigued.

After the third film in the original Men in Black trilogy it felt like Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones had done just about as much with their characters as they could. While the world they inhabited still held some interest, it just didn’t feel like there were any stories left to tell. Even last summer when it was announced the series would be spun-off, with new characters and new situations, it still felt like a been there, done that sort of thing. In the trailer though, it looks like Hemsworth and Thompson have managed to breathe new life into the franchise.

Back are the black suits, shades, cool weapons and cars that fly. Even the coffee-addicted worm-like aliens are back. What’s new though is the teaming of Hemsworth and Thompson (although they had teamed before in the Thor franchise). Thompson plays Agent M, a new recruit to the Men in Black, and Hemsworth plays their best operative Agent H. Liam Neeson is the head of the London chapter of the MIB, and Emma Thompson returns as the chief of the entire organization. The film looks to take place mostly in London, where a new alien threat requires the agents attention.

Men In Black International is set to be released on June 14, 2019.
