It may have been 4 years since Selena Gomez last released a full-length album, but the singer has continued to release new music on a regular basis. Her latest single, Lose You to Love Me is now out, and the video for it was shot on an iPhone 11.
The self-love anthem is a piano ballad that she worked on with her frequent collaborators Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels, and was co-written with by Swedish duo Mattman Robin. In a released statement Gomez said “This song was inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album. I thought it was important to share the music, as I know many can relate to the fact that the road to self-discovery generally comes through the scars in one’s life. I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself.”
The black and white video features Gomez sitting alone on a chair, constantly looking over her shoulder, yet slowly growing more comfortable with her surroundings. Her emotions change from angry to content throughout the song, which match the lyrics nicely. Watch the video and listen to the song below.
