The course moves a bit slow for my personal taste, as a few lectures seem overly simple and probably unnecessary. Lectures 2 and 5, in particular, stand out here; they show you how to install GIMP and open files, respectively. I work in GIMP on a daily basis to edit images for publication on ExtremeTech and PCMag, and yet I still found this course teaching me how to use GIMP better, which will undoubtedly help speed up my editing process.

It’s also worth noting that lecturer Bernard’t Hooft is easily one of the best lecturers I’ve experienced while reviewing Udemy courses. He clearly pronounces each word in a calm and decisive manner. He also doesn’t stray off topic with unnecessary information.

The course is well organized, informative, professionally presented, and it covers an extremely useful topic. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to edit images, this is an excellent place to start. It’s also a smart place to start if you’ve never taken a Udemy course before and want to see what it’s like before paying out for another course. While Udemy classes vary greatly from course to course, the system used is still the same.
