Taylor Swift has been making headlines lately for involving herself in a politics for the first time, and last night after making history by becoming the most decorated woman in the history of the American Music Awards, she continued to encourage people to vote.
“This award and every single award given out tonight were voted on by the people, and you know what else is voted on by the people,” she said, “the midterm elections on November 6.”
All in all, Swift won four awards, including Artist of the Year, Favourite Female Artist Pop/Rock and Favourite Album for Reputation. With those awards she has now won a total of 23 during her career, beating out Whitney Houston for the most ever by a female artist.
Drake came into the night tired with Cardi B for the most nominations, but didn’t win a single award. Cardi B on the other hand won 3 trophies, including Favourite Hip-Hop/Rap Artist. Other winners included Migos, Shaun Mendes, Kane Brown, Post Malone, Carrie Underwood, Khalid and Camila Cabello.
