It’s been 16 years since Shania Twain last appeared on the American Music Awards, yet it doesn’t look like she’s missed a beat. The country-pop star closed out the show singing a medley, not only of her hits, but of covers of some of the biggest artists of today as well.
Twain took the stage sitting on a chair playing an acoustic guitar singing snippets of contemporary hits. From Post Malone’s “Rockstar,” to Twenty One Pilots’ “Stressed Out,” Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” and Drake’s “God’s Plan”. She even included her own “You’re Still the One” at the very end. Then everything exploded into a big-budget concert as she burst into a medley of her own hits including “Any Man of Mine,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much” and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!”
Twain went 15 years between albums, before she finally released an album called Now in 2017. During her time off though she didn’t completely disappear, as she took up residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from 2012 to 2014. The singer is now preparing for a new residency, this time at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort Casino, which will begin on December 6th.
