Reese Witherspoon has played many roles throughout her career, and now she’s set to take on her first unscripted role. That of a TV interviewer.
It was announced yesterday that Witherspoon will be hosting a new weekly interview show for ATT called “Shine on With Reese.” The series will examine the stories of trailblazing women, with several guests already lined up. Among the first guests will be singers Dolly Parton, Pink and Kacey Musgraves; Sprinkles founder Candace Nelson; poet Cleo Wade; actress America Ferrara; and author/activist Glennon Doyle.
The series will premiere on July 17th on a new women-centric on-demand channel Hello Sunshine, with was co-founded by Witherspoon herself. At the moment the channel will only be available on DirecTV and ATT U-Verse.
In a released statement Witherspoon said “I am thrilled to have such like-minded, creative collaborators at ATT to help Hello Sunshine pursue our mission of elevating and showcasing the voices of women that we have such admiration and respect for. I am so excited for the world to experience the stories from our partnership with ATT, which are set to be equal parts entertaining, inspiring, thought-provoking and unabashedly real.”
Witherspoon is currently filming the second season of “Big Little Lies” as well as an adaptation of Celeste Ng’s novel “Little Fires Everywhere” with Kerry Washington. She will also soon start working on the recently announced “Legally Blonde 3,” which is set to be released in February 2020.
