Rachel Bilson and Eddie Cibrian’s summer series Take Two was officially cancelled yesterday by ABC after low ratings hurt the shows chances. The series followed the story of a private investigator who teamed up a former star of a hit cop TV series after she served a stint in rehab. Cibrian’s P.I. thought that the celeb’s skills and experience making the TV show might help him with his business. The series was part comedy and part drama.

Take Two premiered in June and ran throughout the summer, with the season, and now series, finale airing in September. The 13 episodes never performed very well though, and was one of the lowest-rated series of the summer. It was originally ordered straight-to-series last November, which means a pilot was never made and it went straight to production. It was created by Andrew Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller, who had previously create the hit series Castle that ran for eight seasons.

Bilson previously had a reoccurring role on Nashville, but is more well known for starring in Hart of Dixie and The O.C.. Cibrian has had roles on several TV shows including Rosewood, Baby Daddy and For Better or Worse.
