Pretty Little Liars just ended last year after airing for seven seasons and 160 episodes, but now Freeform has ordered the spinoff series The Perfectionists to begin filming.
The Perfectionists is based on the novel by Sara Shepard, the same author of Pretty Little Liars. It’s set in the town of Beacon Heights, a town that seems perfect on first glance, but has dark secrets. The series will follow the story of three college friends, who are over-stressed due to their school load, yet continue overworking themselves in an attempt to be perfect. After the town is subjected to their first murder, the girls find themselves hiding behind a secret, a lie and an alibi as the hunt for the killer goes on.
A pilot for the series was ordered back in September of 2017, after starting development as early as 2014, but it wasn’t until yesterday that Freeform ordered 10-episodes to be made into a series. Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish are the stars of the series, reprising their roles from Pretty Little Liars. Joining them will be Sofia Carson, Sydney Park, Eli Brown, Graeme Thomas King, Kelly Rutherford, and Hayley Erin. If the series is as popular as Pretty little Liars was, expect several more episodes to be made. The Perfectionists isn’t expected to air until sometime in 2019.
