When it was announced last year that Lady Gaga was about to get a Las Vegas residency, fans were ecstatic. Gaga herself even helped fan the flames with a Tweet that said “The rumors are true. I will have my own residency in Las Vegas. I was made for this town, and I can’t wait to light up the Park Theater like never before…. this is just the beginning of a new era!” Since then however there hasn’t been a peep, and rumors started spreading that perhaps it wasn’t going to happen after all. Thankfully though it is happening, and will start on December 28th.
Gaga announced the details of her MGM Park Theater residency called Enigma, and it will include not just one, but two different shows. The first one, called Lady Gaga Enigma is called in a press release a “brand-new odyssey of her pop hits built as an experience unlike any other.” The first show has announced several dates spanning most of next year. The second show will only consist of four concerts, and is described as a “stripped-down versions of her hits as well as music from the Great American Songbook.” It’s called Lady Gaga Jazz Piano.
In the statement Gaga said “I can’t wait to share Enigma with all of my fans and with Las Vegas. We’re creating a show unlike anything I’ve done before. It will be a celebration of all that is unique and different within us. The challenges of bravery can be overcome with creativity and courage that is grown out of adversity, love and music.”
Gaga is also working on her sixth pop album, as well as another jazz album with Tony Bennett. She is also set to star in Bradley Cooper’s remake of A Star Is Born which is making its rounds at film festivals before hitting theaters on October 5th.
