What Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul began two weeks ago on social media ended yesterday, and in the end the duo has trolled everyone; fans and media alike. The duo revealed that their mutual project wasn’t the long waited for Breaking Bad reunion, but instead the launching of a new liquor brand Dos Hombres.
You’ve got to hand it to the pair, they know how to market themselves. Ever since they started posting images on social media at the same time on both of their accounts, people have been anxiously awaiting news. From the words “soon” and “can’t wait”, it seemed like Breaking Bad might just be coming back sooner than expected. The pair were simply marketing their new artisanal Mezcal however, and it’s left fans feeling more than a little disappointed. Fans will have to wait for news on the show, which has apparently wrapped filming, but no news on a plot or release date have been released.
The Espadin Mezcal retails for $58, and is available now. In a lengthy Instagram post, Cranston and Paul stated “We started traveling to Oaxaca to see if we could find it, and we mean it had to be ‘it,’ something so damn good even people who don’t think they like Mezcal will love it. It had to be perfect or we weren’t going to do it. We are crazy about the taste, the aroma, and the versatility of this smokey, age-old alcohol. Try it, and let us know what you think. We are certain you will love it.”
Whether or not fans will buy the drink is unknown at the moment, but what is certain is that people more than likely won’t fall for any similar prank from the duo in the near future.
