Amber Heard Donated Divorce Settlement From Johnny Depp To Charity

Amber Heard said her divorce settlement from Johnny Depp wasn’t about the money, and she publicly stated that she was planning on donating the $7 million she was set to receive to charity. And now it’s been proven that she stayed true to her word. 

The Children’s Hospital Los Angeles revealed yesterday that Heard donated between $1 million and $5 million sometime between July 2016 and June 2017. The hospital revealed its annual report of donors, and Heard’s name was listed under their “Honor Roll”. The hospital stated in the report, “On behalf of all the children and families whose lives you have impacted, and everyone at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, we offer our sincere thanks.”

People Magazine reported that the rest of the settlement money was split between other charities with “a particular focus to stop violence against women.” While it’s not clear when Heard made the other donations, we can assume she did so around the same time. Her divorce from Depp was finalized in January 2017 after the couple had been married for 15 months. Last August Heard told the press that she was planning on donating the money.
