New index names most vegetarian-friendly nations on the planet

ISLAND countries and nations with long coastlines control a new Worldwide Vegetarian Index, produced as an overview of help meat-free tourists choose vegetarian-friendly locations.

After taking a look at the variety of vegetarian dining establishments, the ratio to population size, and the yearly meat consumption per capita in countries worldwide, online rental property booking site Oliver’s Travels named the Seychelles the most vegetarian-friendly country worldwide.

It’s not hard to see how the archipelago in the Indian Ocean would take the leading spot, offered its remote island place and modest meat production.

In the Seychelles, the per capita meat intake is 35.6 kg– for perspective, the US consumes 120kg per individual each year.

While the US might have the highest yearly consumption of meat on the list, it redeems itself by ranking greatest for the variety of vegetarian-friendly restaurants (18,975).
