2017 Nikon Macro Photo Contest Winners Program The World Like You’ve Never Seen Before

Often larger is better, however other times it’s all about the details, and as you can see from the winners of Nikon’s 2017 Little World Photomicrography competition, it doesn’t get more detailed than this.

The competitors, which is now in its 43rd year, brings in doctors, scientists, and macro photography lovers from all over the world, and over 2000 people from 88 countries sent their work for factor to consider this year. For those of you who do not know, photomicrography is the practice of taking a picture through a microscopic lense or comparable magnifying device in order to capture the elaborate information of things unnoticeable to the human eye.

This year’s leading prize went to researchers at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, BioImaging Center & & Department of Cell Biology, who captured immortalised human skin cells revealing fluorescently tagged keratin.
