Huawei launch the Mate7 – a 6-inch monster

Huawei have recently launched their flagship device, the Mate7. The phone features a new single-touch fingerprint reader, a big 6-inch Full HD display, a slim 7.9mm body, octa-core processor and a 4100 mAh battery. The Mate7 also includes the 4G CAT6 technology which offers download speeds of up to 300Mbps on supported networks. It has a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera.

The single-touch fingerprint reader is positioned on the back of the phone and allows you to unlock the phone quicker than typing in a password. Huawai mentions that it is 80% faster than other devices using a “slower sweeping recognition option” (cough, Samsung, cough). The reader supports up to five sets of different fingerprints and also allows you to assign fingerprints to guest mode.

The retail price of the phone is $699 and will be available in Amber Gold with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Available from Monday 17 November, via Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi
stores across Australia.

Vodafone via Dick Smith stores, pricing and exact launch date to be announced shortly.
