The Cleveland Indians are looking to trim payroll and they’ve been listening to offers on shortstop Francisco Lindor, who is two seasons away from free agency.

That prediction was no guarantee, of course, but it’s a clear sign that the reports are true that the Indians won’t trade the face of their franchise unless some team blows them away with an offer.

There’s no way the Yankees would do that deal, but the Indians are free to set whatever outrageous price that they want on Lindor.
