It isn’t too hard to create the decorative toppings for this batch of cupcakes. Working with fondant should never be intimidating. All it takes is small fondant balls to make up the “cherry filling” and a bit of white fondant and brown gel food coloring to complete the “crust.” When you use your imagination and you’ll find yourself creating some of the most impressive cupcakes!
How to Make Cherry Pie Cupcakes
To make these cherry pie cupcakes you’ll need to make your favorite cupcakes using a white or yellow cake mix or your favorite homemade vanilla cake recipe. If you don’t already have these items on hand you can pick them up at your local craft store or have them conveniently shipped to you from Amazon.

You’ll want to use red cupcake liners to complete the look, although brown will work too!
You can make your favorite buttercream frosting recipe and add some red food coloring or you can purchase ready made red decorating icing.
To create your cherry pie cupcake topper, you’ll need red fondant, white fondant and brown food coloring to tint it brown for the crust.
