Microsoft is urging Windows 11 users to ignore error messages that appear following the installation of the July 2025 preview update and the August 2025 security update. The company says these issues are logged in Event Viewer under Error ID 57 and contain a warning that the “Microsoft Pluton Cryptographic Provider was not loaded because initialization failed.” According to Microsoft, this message does not reflect an active problem within Windows and has no effect on system performance or security.
The CertEnroll errors are reportedly linked to functions that Windows will offer in the future, but have not yet been fully added to the operating system. As a result, when the system attempts to run these incomplete elements, it creates log entries that may appear concerning but are actually harmless. Users may see the messages each time their device restarts, but Microsoft says no steps are required to prevent or resolve the issue.
These are only the latest in a series of error mishaps on Microsoft’s part. In July, the company told users to ignore Windows Firewall configuration warnings that started appearing after reboots. Earlier in April, the company confirmed and fixed false failure errors with code 0x80070643 linked to Windows Recovery Environment updates. That same month, the update fixed incorrect messages about BitLocker that suggested the drive encryption had failed when there was no issue, BleepingComputer reports.
Microsoft has maintained that these errors, although confusing, have no real impact on devices and should not be seen as indicators of broken functions.
