DeepCool Adds a Snazzy 2.8-Inch Display to Its Newest All-In-One Coolers

The water block slash pump contraption that sits on top of the CPU in an all-in-one (AIO) cooler is evolving. It used to be a static thing with a logo. Then RGB lights were added, and now we’re starting to see displays being added for an extra bit of customizable flair. The latest company to make this transition is DeepCool, which has unveiled a new Mystique line of 240mm and 360mm AIO coolers with a sharp 2.8-inch display on top of the pump and water block assembly.
The company awkwardly claims the new display assists in helping you “visualize your imagination,” but the display does look useful. It’s a TFT LCD with a resolution of 640 by 480, and it certainly looks sharp and easily readable in photos, even from a distance. The display is customizable and can be used for system monitoring, CPU frequency/temp recording over time, or just displaying content. The displayed “media” content appears static in the samples provided, but DeepCool says animated GIFs can also be displayed. It offers various options on the system monitoring front, including CPU temperature and clock speeds, system voltages, CPU and RAM utilization percentages, and more.
One very cool feature of the display (pardon the pun), which we have not seen previously in similar coolers, is it can rotate along with the water block thanks to a built-in gyroscope. Some people want the tubes that connect to the cooler to be a certain orientation, so this offers some flexibility for PC builders. DeepCool also says you can sync the system’s RGB lights to the accent colors in the display or use its thermal warning system, which transitions from green to red as temperatures increase.
Aside from the nifty display, the Mystique line also features a fifth-generation pump design that can run at 3,400rpm but stays rather quiet at just 21 dba. The company also says it’s redesigned its cold plate to offer better heat transfer by putting enhanced flow channels directly over CPU hotspots. However, we’re not sure how that would work on a cold plate designed to work with both monolithic Intel CPUs and AMD’s chiplet CPUs. Regardless, the Mystique line works with AMD AM4/AM5 sockets and all the latest Intel sockets, including 17, 12, and 11-series.
