An extra monitor can help boost your productivity or relay important system info when you need to goose a little more performance from your system. Corsair makes its fair share of gaming monitors, but its latest display isn’t for playing games—the Xeneon Edge is an all-in-one system monitor you can mount on or inside your PC case.
The display measures 14.5 inches diagonal, and as you can see, it sports an extremely wide aspect ratio. It supports up to five simultaneous touches across the 2,560-by-720 LCD panel. Corsair didn’t come up with this idea out of nowhere—there are numerous compact displays like this on the market, but they’re just generic screens that require extensive customization to be useful. Corsair’s display integrates with its existing PC ecosystem.
The Xeneon Edge connects to the Corsair iCue app to display system information and other useful data. iCue isn’t always the most reliable software, but it’s serviceable and makes it easy to utilize the display. Through iCue, you can visualize fan speeds, system temperatures, resource utilization, and more. It can even show you non-system info like the weather. You can also add app shortcuts, and developers will be able to build new widgets for the Xeneon Edge using standard HTML iframes.
The Xeneon Edge is shaped the way it is for a good reason, though. Corsair calls out three ways you can use the Xeneon Edge with a desktop gaming rig. It comes with a stand that should fit snugly under your main monitor, keeping the magnetic display conveniently in your field of vision. If that’s no good, the display’s magnets can also be used to attach it to a metal PC chassis. It connects to the PC over HDMI and USB-C. If your PC can output video of USB-C, you’ll only need to use one cable.
Perhaps the most interesting option is to utilize the display’s mounting holes, which are spaced to fit any case with room for a 360mm radiator or a row of three 120mm fans. Corsair says the display is deal for its 6500, 7000, 3500, and 5000 series cases, but it should work with almost any case with the aforementioned cooling setups. Of course, this does take up space you could otherwise devote to a liquid cooler or one of today’s massive GPUs.
Corsair has not announced a release date, saying only that the display will be available soon. The price is expected to be around $249 when it launches.
