M5 iPad Pro Rumored to Feature Two Front-Facing Cameras

Apple is working on a new iPad Pro that will feature two front-facing cameras, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The upgrade is designed for users who operate their iPads in both portrait and landscape modes, with Apple adding a camera to the top edge of the tablet, as well as retaining the landscape-oriented camera introduced last year. This means that no matter how you hold your device, you won’t have to rotate it to take a photo or unlock it.
The iPad Pro is also expected to sport Apple’s next-generation M5 chip. This chip is based on a new semiconductor process by TSMC and is said to provide up to 20% faster speeds compared to the M4. Performance-driven users, such as those editing video or working with 3D rendering apps, may see a speed boost and better energy efficiency with this change.
Apple’s design and display approach seem set to remain largely identical to the 2024 M4 iPad Pro. The OLED display and core chassis are to remain the same, along with the anti-glare nano-texture display and the thinner form factor. No major changes to the iPad Pro’s external design are planned, according to current reports.
Production for the M5 iPad Pro is slated for the second half of 2025, with an official announcement expected this fall.
