Meta's New 'Vibes' Feed Is Entirely for AI-Generated Short Videos

On Thursday, Meta introduced Vibes, a collection of AI-generated, short-form videos available exclusively in the Meta AI app. Similar to how you’d scroll through Reels on Facebook or Instagram, you can now browse AI videos alongside the prompts that inspired them.
In one of Meta’s examples, a video depicts strong, fluffy mountain goats jumping through deep snow. This clip comes from a detailed prompt that includes mentions of the goats, a snowy mountain landscape, and the overall atmosphere, along with specific style instructions.
Vibes users can remix videos by changing or adding music, altering the AI-generated visuals, or editing the animation to create new versions. These clips can be posted in the Vibes feed or cross-posted to Instagram and Facebook as a story or Reel. On Instagram, users can tap on Meta AI videos to create remixes through the Meta AI app.
Meta’s VP of product, Connor Hayes, previously told The Verge that the Discover feed introduced alongside Meta AI this year was designed to show “people what they can do with” generative AI. Vibes replaces the Discover feed, offering 100% AI-generated entertainment.
Last month, Meta announced a partnership with the AI image generation company Midjourney. This, along with the launch of Vibes, demonstrates Meta’s intention to keep iterating on its AI offerings.
