While the Dirty Dancing remake is set to air May 24th on ABC, very little about the TV movie has been released. That is, until now. Stars of the film, including Abigail Breslin and Sarah Hyland, posted photos to their social media accounts yesterday to give us a glimpse into the event.
Breslin stars as Frances “Baby” Houseman, the role originated by Jennifer Grey in the 1987 classic. Her partner in the film is Colt Prattes, who plays dance instructor/love interest Johnny Castle. The late Patrick Swayze of course played Johnny in the original. Breslin posted the below photos on her Instagram account.
Modern Family Star Sarah Hyland got into the game as well, and posted photos of her character Lisa Houseman on Instagram too. Lisa is Baby’s older sister who falls for a womanizing waiter during their vacation. Debra Messing also stars in the film, and posted a photo of herself, Bruce Greenwood, Nicole Scherzinger and Billy Dee Williams in scenes from it.
While the film had been modernized, and adds in scenes not seen in the original, it’s still basically the same story. It will also feature all the songs heard in the original, with a few new ones added in.
The Dirty Dancing remake will air as a three hour film on May 24th at 8 pm on ABC.
