Brace yourself for the Bronx Bombers

New York inched to within a half-game of the first-place Boston Red Sox as a result and now leads the Rays by 2.5 games.

These are the New York Yankees the fans had come to know and love for the first two and a half months of the season.
For a short while, it was looking as though the Yankees just got hot early on and were suddenly hitting the wall, with both the Rays and Red Sox taking advantage.

Nice as the Yankees’ win over the Rays last night was, it is still just one game and there is plenty of ball left to be played.

That said, even though August has not even come yet, it’s hard to look at the New York Yankees and not see them as an eventual playoff team.
