A Quiet Place Sequel Gets A Release Date

John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place has been one of the year’s best reviewed films, not to mention a box office success, and shortly after its release it was announced that a sequel would be coming. What wasn’t know however is that when exactly that film would be released. That is, until now.

Paramount Pictures announced yesterday that the sequel to A Quiet Place would be released on May 15, 2020. They didn’t give a title to the film, or what exactly the plot of the film would be, but Krasinski himself previously gave hints what he’d like to see if he returns to the director’s chair.

Back in May Krasinski told Deadline that “The thing that I loved in the movie, where my mind kept wandering as we were making it, was the question of who was on the other end of those fires, when the father lights the fire and in the distance those other fires light up. How did those people survive? How did that old man survive?”

What this probably means is that the story of the family in the first film is most likely done. Emily Blunt and the rest of the cast probably won’t be returning. That makes a lot of sense though, and would give the new film a different perspective. Instead of rehashing the same thing, new life could be breathed into this possible franchise. Whatever ends up being the case though, we’re looking forward to seeing it.
